Dr. Carmen Caelian

Registered Psychologist

Dr. Carmen Caelian is a Registered Psychologist who works with children, adolescents, and their families. She completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at UBC and her residency at BC Children’s Hospital and Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children. She is trained as a Qualified Specialist through the BC Autism Assessment Network (BCAAN) to offer assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorders. She also provides psychoeducational and developmental assessments (e.g., to assess for giftedness, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, and other complex neurodevelopmental issues).

Dr. Caelian also offers empirically-supported treatment services to children and adolescents experiencing a range of difficulties. Therapy is collaborative in nature and uses primarily a cognitive-behavioural approach (CBT). Dr. Caelian accepts referrals for clients experiencing anxiety, mood and adjustment difficulties, tic disorders, and behavioural issues. She uses CBT, specifically Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Treatment for tic disorders follows CBIT (Comprehensive Behavioural Intervention for Tics).

Child Psychologist Dr. Daphne Dokis

Dr. Daphné Dokis

Registered Psychologist

Dr. Daphné Dokis is a Registered Psychologist who works with children, adolescents, and their families. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Lifespan Psychology from the University of Victoria. She completed her residency training with Alberta Health Services where she developed expertise supporting families with ADHD and other challenging behaviours. Dr. Dokis uses evidence-based strategies that draw from a family-centred approach to help children, adolescents and their parents in her assessment and treatment roles. In her treatment role, she helps children and youth who struggle with worries, depression, and regulating emotions. She helps parents develop strategies to more effectively manage children with difficult behaviours. She helps families to communicate, problem solve, and resolve conflicts more effectively. In her assessment work, Dr. Dokis completes assessments with children and adolescents to evaluate their learning, social and emotional concerns.
